Dose-Response: Call for Editor-in-Chief

Sage is looking for a new Editor-in-Chief for Dose-Response (DOS) who is willing to work on the strategic development of the journal and establish it as a leading Open Access journal in the field of dose-response relationships.

Dose-Response (DOS) is a peer-reviewed open access journal which focuses on the occurrence of dose-response relationships across a broad range of disciplines. Particular interest focusses on experimental evidence providing mechanistic understanding of nonlinear dose-response relationships. 

The journal is indexed in PubMed Central (PMC), Clarivate Analytics: Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

Editor-in-Chief Vacancy

The position will lead the strategic advancement of the journal’s scientific content in line with the journal’s mission and goals, and actively seek and solicit contributions to be published in the journal. The candidate is active in the field, well-known, and well-regarded in his/her discipline, and has an employer who supports his/her commitment to serving in the role. 

General responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief:

  • Strategically analyze developments in the field to determine the need for new, comprehensive, and balanced material for publication

  • Ensure DOS’ scientific content is in strategic alignment with the journal’s mission and goals

  • Actively represent and promote DOS throughout the scientific community to encourage citations, attract high quality manuscript submissions, and recruit willing and able manuscript reviewers

  • Work closely and cooperatively with the Sage Publishing Editor on the journal’s strategy and to achieve the journal’s goals

  • Meet yearly commissioning targets to support continuous journal growth

Candidate qualifications

The successful candidate is likely to possess and be able to demonstrate evidence of the following qualities:

  • Familiarity with the scientific publishing landscape, especially with open access journals and those related to healthcare sciences and services

  • Experience as a published author in related scientific journals 

  • Ability to critically review scientific manuscripts

  • Ability to provide counsel and guidance to prospective authors and manuscript reviewers

  • Leadership skills

  • Commitment to publishing ethics

  • Established personal network of professional contacts

  • Ability and motivation to fulfill the general duties as described below
